Tips for Managing Your Finances*:
- Make a checklist of all your bills and expenses — know how much money your family needs.
- Think about additional expenses your family might incur during active duty.
- Prepare for deployment by creating a special savings fund for your family.
- Research different savings account options so you can get the most out of your money.
- Be open about your finances — talk to your spouse and your children.
- Research lenders and service providers to find the one that best suits your needs. Ask if they have a special discount or programs for military families.
- Ask family, friends or your financial institution for help in planning for active duty.
- Take advantage of financial literacy courses and resources.
- Keep track of your credit card payments -- always pay on time and pay more than the minimum.
- Before deployment, make sure your spouse has access and control of all your accounts.
Military families across the country struggle financially when their loved one's are deployed. In an effort to help them better manage and control their finances, and to thank its customers and employees for their service to our country, Chase is proud to offer the following assistance:
Helping Those in Harm's Way:
Through its Blue Star Program, Chase rebates all finance charges for up to a year for any military cardmember who has been deployed to a combat zone.* Family members can continue to use their military program card while their loved one is deployed, and all interest incurred will be refunded upon the cardmember's return — the ONLY bank that does this for its military members.
*As defined by Chase Card Services.
Supporting Chase Military Families:
For Chase employees serving in the military, Chase goes above and beyond the call of duty, paying employees who have completed 90 days of service at Chase their full salaries during their federal- or state-mandatory active duty deployments and continuation of most of their benefits. This ensures that Chase military families are able to maintain the same lifestyle and access the same services during deployments, a step that goes a long way in reducing financial worries during active duty service.
Military Scholarships:
Chase rewards military service members and helps promote higher education by providing scholarships for dependants of military cardmembers. To date, Chase has granted more than $100,000 under this program.
Military Cards with Lower Fees and Interest Rates:
For customers with a Chase military card, Chase offers lower fees and interest rates year-round.
Online Assistance:
Through its Clear & Simple Web site (www.chaseclearandsimple.com), Chase provides all military families with a one-stop-shop for all the information they need to manage their finances during a loved one's deployment and throughout their military careers.
Military Hotline:
Chase understands that military life creates unique situations for families, and has established a toll-free number staffed with representatives who understand those challenges and can help families address them. All customers enrolled in our military program will have access to this military-specific customer service hotline to answer any financial questions they may have regarding their accounts.

Giving Back to Military Bases:
Chase supports military families by sponsoring concerts and other programs at military installations that focus on morale, welfare and recreation, such as the Army Concert Series, which provides entertainment for soldiers around the country.
Giving Back for Military Spending:
Cardmembers enrolled in our military program will receive rewards for spending at military installations, where many families do the bulk of their shopping. Chase returns two points for every dollar spent at commissaries, exchanges, and MWR/Services/MCCS activities, and one point for purchases made at off base locations.
